Cork Meetup Part 2 | Debenhams

11:04

Next stop for the Cork Meet Up was Debenhams on Patrick St. We were greeted by Paul, Alma and Emma from Debemhans, who took us all up to our own private room. There was prosecco, cupcakes and a giant handmade cake (that had our own twitter bird on it-AMAZING) along with some gorgeous perfume stands, where we could sample some new fragrances.

We got a lovely surprise of being shown the new Clarins launches and got a fab Clarins goody bag to match. Myself & my co-organiser Fiona (dollydowsie.com) had designed a beauty treasure trail where everyone would be separated into groups (I was in The It Girls) And were given 6 beauty counters to visit on the shop floor, all showcasing new products. Each product had to be photographed and tweeted (using the hashtags corkmeetup & beautifix) and this would enter you into a draw to win a Debenhams hamper (all very exciting)

Clinique

Clinique talked us through there 1,2,3 cleanse, tone, moisturise range along with their new Smart Custom Repair Serum. The unique quality in this serum is it targets the specific areas on the skin you want to repair and improve (dark patches, lines, scarring) so definitely something to check out if you want a a serum for a specific skin concern.
Benefit

Benefit showed us their new 'They're Real' gel pen liner (which is the first of its kind). The lovely Lynn (who was dressed as a cop) demoed for us. You simply click the pen once which releases enough product to the nip and then you just draw on your liner (so simple). The great thing was that you don't see the product come up through the angled nip, so you're not going to get any clumps, just an even, smooth line which lasts all day.
Urban Decay

UD showed us their Naked Flushed contour palette and double ended duo fibre brush. I got to sample both and loved them. The palettes have a contour bronzer, a blush and highlighter. You use the blusher end to apply product, then the stipple end of the brush to blend it in. I wasn't wearing any tan on the day and I found this palette perfect for contouring for us pale girls.
Elizabeth Arden

We got an exclusive first look and sample of Elizabeth Ardens new 'Flawless Future' Ceramide Collection, available this August. It is designed to target the effects of stress on the skin (so definitely one for us with busy lifestyles) Stress decreases the skins barrier function, decreases antioxidant levels and decreases cell turnover. The Flawless Future Caplet Serum is one product from the range to look out for as it is like anti-stress for skin, in a bottle.

Not only that but Elizabeth Arden provides a personalised skin scanning consultation, where you can get an instant reading of your skin and you can actually see how well your skin is improving by the use of the products.
Dior

Dior introduced us to their new Dior Addict It Lash and Liner range, which is stunning. If you're a fan of colour then check out this range. The liners and mascaras come in hot pink, electric blue and bright violet. For a funky look use the mascara just on the tips of the lashes or just on the bottom lashes. The liners have a really long handle and very fine brush, which makes application super easy.
Lancome

Lancome showed us their Genifique Serum Range. It is so important to include serums in your skin care routine. Lancome have recently launched the new advanced genifique yeux, which is a youth activating eye cream (which I actually bought myself at the end of the demo, so I'll let you all know how that goes) It is a very light cream with a gel texture (one finger tip amount does both eyes) and fights the visible signs of stress and fatigue around the eye area.
When we went back into the room, we were greeted by a giant Debenhams goodie bag and a 50 euro voucher to spend in store (which did make the whole room gasp with shock and excitement). We also got the opportunity to sign up to the Debenhams Reward Card......and lastly, there was some spot prizes up for grabs (talk about jam packed full of excitement)

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the whole Debenhams team for making our afternoon absolutely amazing. From the minute we walked in to when we left, we were all blown away by the generosity, professionalism and hospitality of the whole team. Planning the event prior to the day was so exciting, but being there on the day, seeing everything in place and enjoying the whole experience was something else. To Emma, Alma, Paul and all the Debenhams team who demoed for us on the day, thank you so so much, we all had a fantastic day and experience with you and hope to work with you all again in the future.
